Amos Tarfa is a Diagnostic & Nuclear Medicine Physicist and a distinguished STEM pioneer, educator, humanitarian, and entrepreneur committed to transforming science and mathematics education. Through his innovative methodology, he seamlessly integrates the History and Philosophy of Science with real-world STEM applications, fostering a deeper and more impactful learning experience.
Amos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (with a minor in Philosophy), a Master’s in Medical Physics, and a second Master’s in Medical Health Physics. He has also advanced his expertise by undertaking doctoral studies in Chemistry and STEM Education.
Widely recognized as AmosTheMathGuy, he is the architect of Counting to Calculus, a groundbreaking curriculum framework that guides students from foundational mathematics to advanced subjects such as Calculus I, II, III, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, and Computer Science. His revolutionary STEM program enables high school students to earn over 30 transferable college credits through CLEP exams, providing them with a significant academic head start.
In 2013, Amos founded the Learning Institute for Excellence (LIFE), a premier educational organization offering academic tutoring, standardized test preparation (SAT/ACT), and consulting services for schools. His unwavering dedication to student success continues to shape the future of STEM education.
Currently based in Texas, Amos Tarfa balances his professional roles as a Diagnostic & Nuclear Medicine Physicist in Texas and an Adjunct faculty member at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. Originally from Adamawa State, Nigeria, he shares his inspiring journey with his wife, Stephanie, and their wonderful children, embodying a life of purpose, leadership, and educational excellence.
